Orbit – jQuery Slideshow for Joomla 2.5 & 3.4+

Preview Download 2.5 3.0+

Slick and easy to use jQuery slideshow for Joomla 2.5 version is available for free download. The slideshow was initially developed by Zurb and later converted to Joomla module by me. This slideshow module can be configured quickly and support up to 20 slides. It has lots of parameters, where you can adjust the sliding speed, animation effect, size of images, etc.

If you may have any question regarding this module, or you have any suggestion on how Orbit module can be improved, feel free to leave a message bellow.

This is the slideshow I was looking for. Thank you for converting it for Joomla 2.5. Hope you will release a version for Joomla 3.0 as well when the time comes.
Looking forward to download some more useful modules from here!

How do place the caption in center of Orbit -Jquery and with difirent font size?
Thanks Best regards

    Do the following steps:
    1. When you set up a slide, at Text Type parameter choose Content.
    2. Insert the HTML content in the Caption / Content text area.

For demonstration I used the following HTML code:
    < br />
    < br />
    < br />
    < br />
    < br />
    < h1>Orbit does content now.< / h1>
    < h2>Highlight me...I'm text.< / h2>

    Note: remove the spaces.

Is there any possibility of adding thumbnail functionality (choosing thumbnails instead of navigation bullets)?

Dear good day.
First I want to congratulate you for the excellent templates and extensions developed with qualities.

But I wonder how do I enter the code: target = “_blank” to open the image link in a new window.

I apologize for the English because I am Brazilian (Belém / Pará / Brazil) and do not speak English. I had to use the google translator.

Thank you for your attention, awaiting return. Thank you!

Hi! I have added a new feature to the module, now you can choose the Link Target Attribute in the module parameters. Download file has been updated!

Dear, good afternoon.
I came here to offer my thanks for having entered the atributgo “Link Target” in Orbit slideshow. good work and success always.

I’m always looking for news of you on the site.

Thank you.

Hi,

i am testing orbit slideswoh extension on localhost with EasyPHP 12.0 and Joomla 2.5. But there is a problem. Here is google chrome developer tools output:

GET mysite.com/modules/mod_je_orbit/css/orbit-1.2.3.css 404 (Not Found)
GET mysite.com/modules/mod_je_orbit/js/jquery-1.5.1.min.js 404 (Not Found)
GET mysite.com/modules/mod_je_orbit/js/jquery.orbit-1.2.3.js 404 (Not Found)

everything is ok, but these files are not loading.
Thanks.

The module installation was successful? It looks like these files were not uploaded to the server. Download the module and install it again. I changed something in the XML file, maybe this will help.

Yes, i checked. Everything is ok, files are there. I tried it many times. My template is free Healt Care from ajoomlatemplates.com, they are using this slideshow module in demo site.

Many thanks for your answer.

I use XAMPP server on my localhost to test the templates, and everything works perfect. Maybe the EasyPHP is generating this issue.

Dear good day.
I’m using this extension “jQuery Slideshow”, very good. But unfortunately she does not have the option to add IDs of articles, this option is also much better. Because sometimes you need to redirect the link in a banner slideshow to an article on the site.

His works are very good

Sorry for the English, unfortunately did not speak English, so I had to translate on google translator

Good extention but with Joomla 2.5.8, it doesn’t work with link and caption. Neither with clink and content.
How can I do ?
Thanks

Hello! I’m not sure what the issue is. Can you post the URL where you are using the slideshow?

I am having trouble finding a good free slideshow.
Every slideshow show too big pictures or there is something wrong with them.
I am trying Orbit now, am it seem that I have to make images the right size before I upload them.
But why are the images align to the left?

You will always have to resize the images before you upload to your site. If you have pictures taken with a camera, those are 3-5 MB in size, it will significantly slow down your website. Also if you resize the images, and make all of them standard, your site will look very organized and clean.
Regarding the question, I can only assume, that the module position where you publish the slideshow is not centered. Can you show me the demo where the module is installed?

working on final touches and realized the orbit slider stopped sliding on its own.
How to make work again.
Timer is set to false but don’t see where to change this to auto slide on page load.

When you disable the timer, the slideshow will only work manually, by clicking on the navigation arrows or bullets. To have it auto-sliding, enable the timer and hide it via css. You will need to add this code to the module or template css file:
    .orbit-container .orbit-timer { display:none!important}

That worked perfect! Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly!

Hi,
Perfect but for one detail… How do I center the module? I’m using it to scroll thru 4 logos but cant get it in the middle of the page 🙂

You can center the module with css. Define the max width of the holder container of the slideshow module and center it with margin:0 auto. This is an example:
    .slideshow_container {max-width:960px; margin:0 auto}
